Taking screenshots in Windows PC

In this article I'll teach you how to take different types of screenshots in Windows PC (Win 7 & Win 8).

1. Using the PrintScreen button in the keyboard:

It is abbreviated as PrtSc. On pressing this, Windows takes a screenshot of the entire Desktop region. After that, open MS Paint and click on paste. The screenshot will appear. Save it to a desired location with an appropriate name and you're done.

2. Using the Alt + Printscreen buttons:

On pressing Alt + PrtSc together, Windows takes a screenshot of only the active window out of all open windows. Then follow the same procedure as above.

For example: In the above picture, pressing Alt + PrtSc will take the screenshot of the front VLC Media Player window because it is currently the active window.

Note: In Windows 8 PC, you only need to press Windows key + Printscreen key and the system will automatically save the screenshot in folder named 'Screenshots' within the 'Pictures' library.

3. Using the inbuilt Snipping Tool:

Windows has a dedicated program called Snipping Tool for taking customized screenshots. Open it via Run Menu by typing 'snippingtool' without the quotes, or search it in the Start Menu. After opening it you can easily drag the cross-hairs/cursor and take a screenshot of the desired region of desktop or any other open program.
The Snipping Tool looks like this:

The next time you wanna send screenshots of your desktop or any other stuff in your computer, remember these tiny tricks. Have fun :)
